On March 24, 2025, NSFC Vice President Han Yu met with Arnold Pippel, Vice President of Global Journals of Elsevier, and his delegation.

Drawing on their respective expertise, NSFC and Elsevier exchanged insights and best practices in the governance of scientific research integrity. Both sides discussed challenges of the governance of scientific research integrity posed by the rapid application of artificial intelligence and explored approaches to address these challenges. NSFC and Elsevier agreed to collaborate in fostering an academic environment of integrity and transparency.

Attendees from NSFC included Dr. Fan Yingjie, Director General of the Bureau of International Cooperation, Guo Jianquan, Deputy Director of the Office for the Construction of Scientific Research Integrity, Tang Longhua, Deputy Director of the Center for Scientific Communication and Achievement Transformation, and other relevant staff members. Also present were Sun Yan, Managing Director of Elsevier's Global Journals in China, Chen Yinan, Director of Strategic Cooperation in China, and Zhang Dandan, Senior Manager of Strategic Cooperation in China.
